June 26, 2009 – at home in Hemet, California, USA
Dear Loved Ones:
I am sending just an update for you on my life plus many, many thanks for your prayers and support. As I am getting older, your prayer keeps me going. I feel the Lord with me each day.
My missionary work in Japan was so rewarding and I feel I left the Lord’s “Mark” there. I used myself as an example of Christ and His love in my daily teaching and travels. I miss the many Japanese people I met there. We had such fun during our lessons. When it came time for scripture lessons, the Japanese respected me and participated in the reading, discussion and songs. It was so great and our God was always present.
I have been home for nearly 3 months and have spent the time at my local church, plus visiting my children. I am pleased to announce that I have a new grandson, Calum, born one week ago. I will send information on him separately. He was truly a miracle baby.
My next trip is as a volunteer teacher for the Summer Language Institute at Lithuania Christian College, Klaipeda. I leave tomorrow night for six weeks. This is my third year to participate there and I am excited to go there. I hope to work into my class presentations some of the scripture lessons from Tokyo.
Finally, I have been reappointed to return to Tokyo this Fall and Winter. I am excited about that. Although I am not much of a Sushi eater, I enjoy their noodles and dumplings. God has blessed me again and again. Can you believe that?
I plan to spend part of December, when I am home, in the Reynosa, Mexico area and work at the orphanage. If you want to send gifts for the poor children of Mexico, you can send them here. I am always overweight when I go there but the Lord usually handles that. Also, may decide to drive so I can take more clothes, toys, candy, beans and rice. It is a great ministry.
My goal is to keep going, as a missionary of God’s word as long as my feet and legs will carry me. Please continue to pray for me. The Lord keeps me going.
